This photo was taken on one of the warmer days; since the sun was out, it was only about -5°C (23°F).  Actually, we had plenty of warm clothes so we thoroughly enjoyed all three days of skiing.

This was Kumiko's first time to ski - and she did quite well.  which you can judge for yourself by watching this .

What isn't obvious from the video is that, as I crossed in front of her, I was turning around to ski backwards - all the while trying to keep her in the viewfinder of the camera by looking at a tiny screen.

And I'm not telling you that to brag on my skiing abilities.  I only mention it to set up the next , which is a prime example of an attempt that didn't go so well.

...but don't worry, all her broken bones mended fine.
