A Perfect Day

We headed west from Valley of the Rogue State Park, through Grants Pass, on a nice two-lane highway through beautiful forests fill with many varieties of trees - the leaves of some were already turning to vivid shades of yellow and orange in anticipation of Autumn.

The varied forest gave way to ones made up entirely of tall pines, with wonderful fragrances carried to us on the gentle breeze.  By early afternoon, we had reach the California coast line and picked up the legendary Pacific Coast Highway.  We turned south, with the Pacific Ocean on our right, and pines of ever increasing stature looming on our left.  We enjoyed perfect weather throughout the day and ended up at an equally perfect campsite at Redwood National Park.

As I said, it was a perfect day.
